HIGHLAND DANCE - 5 Years old & Up
Highland Dancing is a very powerful and graceful form of dance, best known for its intricate footwork and lively spirited music. In this discipline, you will learn many traditional and national dances that have been carried down through centuries, such as the Highland Fling, Sword Dance, Irish Jig and Sailor's Hornpipe.

Students will also be challenged with fun choreography to favorite Celtic music. Competitive dancing is a big part of the history of Highland Dance and is still very popular among today's Highland Dancers.

Highland Dancing has its own governing body, called the Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing (SOBHD). Under this board, they offer competitions all over the world. Our Highland program is taught by an experienced, certified Highland instructor who can offer the Scottish Dance Teacher's Alliance exams (S.D.T.A). Those students that choose to participate in highland SOBHD competitions or exams, must have a teacher that is both certified and a professional member of Scotdance Canada.
