Modern dance arose in the 1920's in direct opposition to ballet rigid standards. it was an alternative to the current dance experiences available, founded on natural source of movements. It is a natural form of personal expression and is closely allied creative discovery,deigned to inspire audiences to a new awareness of inter or outer realities. Performed bare feet, the movements allow the dancer to explore the vast array of free patterns created by modern dance pioneers like Isadora Duncan and Martha Graham.
